  • ‘Under the Fig Tree … a Reid Devron murder mystery’ is my latest (third) book in the series. it is, once again, set in Queensland Australia. This time Brisbane city sets the scene. Was Judd Standish’s death a freak accident or cold-blooded murder? Who benefitted from the gentle, unassuming man’s demise? Brisbane metropolitan College Principal, Reid Devron is embroiled in a tragedy which threatens to impact his and his charming fiancée Meggie’s life. Reid knew to keep his nose out of it when Judd’s body appeared in the college grounds, but after several gruesome homicides in his former schools, Reid couldn’t walk away. With a surfeit of suspects, and passions mounting, Reid identified a connection between Judd’s death and a heartbreaking waste of life years earlier. When another dead body turns up, it’s a race against the clock to discover the killer.

I really enjoyed this book. Julie provides a delightful range of short stories in Ballyhoo and Babble… tales to Fright and Delight. Which is an apt title! Her descriptions draw you into the tales as the scenery, dogs and people are so believable you are quick to laugh, cry or gasp at the characters situations. The variation in themes and plots is a lovely mix of humour, horror and general feel good tales. For someone wanting an entertaining read while travelling or anytime, this collection is ideal.

  • My second novel in the Reid Devron mystery series is Silo Deadfall. Who murdered Ken Bannister? And why? The quiet country town of Wythenshawe is rocked by Ken’s murder and local school principal Reid Devron finds himself unwittingly involved  in what quickly reveals itself as the opening act of a dangerous vendetta. The victim’s brother Vince, Reid and Reid’s old nemesis, Detective Inspector Humphrys are thrown together in an investigation as deadly as it is baffling. And what of Meggie? The seductive woman he left behind at his last posting? When no arrest is made, Reid plunges in, out of his depth, determined to uncover the truth. But will he live ling enough? And can he stop the murderer from killing again?

  • My first novel, a murder mystery entitled The Lavender Principal. Disappointed in his personal life , Reid Devron, recently appointed Principal to an outback Queensland school, finds himself involved in a series of unnerving, personal attacks and vicious murder. The peace and quiet of the rural setting is unsettled by the dark deeds and the once tight-knit community becomes fragmented and violent. Will Reid discover the sinister secrets that led to these murders before the killer strikes again?

An excellent read – keeps one guessing and absolutely intrigued. A page turner! Nicole Aiello

Great insight into life in an Outback Australian school. If you add a crime, romance and a Principal who is on a mission to discover who done it, this book is hard to put down. An easy to read book where the characters come to life. The author has captured the atmosphere of a small town community where a crime has been committed. Kerry Maag
